Even with the extreme wind, we managed to find some awesome fossils and had a really good time!
Find of the day for me was a mysterious bone cluster which I took in to the Canterbury museum for some help in identifying. One of the senior curators, Paul, had a look at it and came back with some interesting information. I added this right at the end of the video.
Turns out I had an interesting concretion just sitting in my garden. What I thought was a crab claw sticking out, was in fact a piece of bone! The museum are going to do an exploratory prep on it to see if it’s worth spending more time on it.
