I went on a great fossil hunt to one of my favourite Miocene (around 12myo) fossil deposits in Canterbury, New Zealand. I found a very promising fossil concretion sticking out of the cliff and just had to dig it out and take a look. These round concretions often have something good at the centre such as a large crab or cetacean bones so are worth investigating.
I broke my air scribe stylus this week so prepping is paused while I get that repaired. I might have to learn how to braze so I can repair it myself in the future. Tungsten is a difficult material to work with!
