After a year of keeping an eye out for fossil shark teeth at this Miocene era beach, I finally score! I think it’s a mako type tooth just from looking at the shape.
I’ve been promising a time-lapse video of a crab prep which I added in to the end of this video. It took about 8 hours to do. I need to get a micro prep tool to prep the crab further.
The crab is a Tumidocarcinus Giganteus crab, a species which can grow to really large proportions and usually have really good preservation.
Thanks to everyone giving useful hints and IDs on the fossil finds, they are really helping so much!
