With my hand out of the cast, I got started on the prepping of these two mega shark vertebrae I found a month or two ago. The prep took about 10 hours and it was rather difficult as the rock was sticking to the shark vertebrae. I’m happy with the end result and learnt quite a bit from prepping my first shark vertebrae. You really get to know a fossil when you stare at it for 10 hours!
They each measure about 11cm in diameter which is very large for a paleocene or cretaceous era shark.
I’ve started a Patreon page with some videos already on there! I will load some extra fossil hunts, fossil preps and behind-the-scenes videos here. I also have a few projects I can’t share publicly yet which I will be posting here. I want to get the Patreons involved in choosing the hunting spots and what fossils to prep as well :)
